Single-character calligraphy:
Passing Cloud #1, 2003
Calligraphy is writing practised as a visual art. In the ancient Chinese and wider East Asian tradition, creativity and mental/spiritual well-being are released by exploring the possibilities of brush, ink and paper in terms of the conventions of the Chinese, character-based writing system.

All the major script types are covered and revisited over the year. Emphasis is given to regular script because of its role as a standard script in both China and Japan. Small groups allow good time for 1-1 tuition, while my detailed notes will help you sustain your practice at home.
