All about the Artcourses 'starter' web page

Who is it for?   How does it work?   How much will it cost?   How do I apply?

If you've been thinking of setting up your own website, but have been put off by the cost and/or the trouble, we may have the solution you're looking for - an affordable service that saves you time and effort.

Who is it for?

Which scenario describes you best?
'We already market ourselves with a glossy brochure. We need to project a high-profile image with a showcase website that complements our own artistic flair.'

Our standardised service is probably not for you - but then you've probably already invested in the website you need.

'We need to keep costs down. Our printed brochure is relatively inexpensive, but we could save on postage and reach new students by putting its content on the web.'

The 'starter' web page should be ideal for you!

How does it work?

We have set up a standard template for your web page. You supply us with the text and the images (photos, line drawings, etc) to fill the different slots, and we do the rest.

The template offers a limited amount of flexibility but, like a mass-produced car which comes in several versions, it's the underlying standardisation that allows us to produce it quickly and cheaply. The starter package is for a web page that prints to a single page of A4, and contains two images (prices for longer pages or more images can be negotiated).

How will people access my web page?

We will incorporate your page into our site, so that, if your name were Chris Lee, your URL could be: www.artcourses.co.uk/page/chrislee/

People will be able to access your page directly as well as by linking from your entry in the Artcourses directory.

How much will it cost (2008 prices)?

Web page creation and hosting (1 year): £130.00
Web page creation and hosting (3 years): £160.00

If you choose 3 years and pay in full, we will:

Will my web page be used to carry secondary advertising banners?

No.

Who will own my web page?

You will.We will give you a working copy of your web page on diskette, so you will always have the option of transferring it elsewhere.

  6. Send us, by post, your application form, text and images, and (optionally) your cheque for the full amount payable to Finedyne Ltd.
  7. We will then create your web page and ask you to check it on-line;
  8. When you are happy with it, send your remittance (or simply phone/e-mail us if you have already sent a cheque);
  9. We will then link your existing directory entry to your new web page;
  10. We will also put a copy of your web page onto your diskette and return it to you with your photos/images and your receipt.
Course dates, prices, and other details can change from year to year, and we understand that you will wish to keep your web page up-to-date. We undertake to make a maximum of 2 text amendments per year free of charge. We advise you to choose images that will not become out of date, as we will have to charge for amendments to these.
